Your role in a nutshell:

As an Indirect Tax Team Leader you will support indirect tax compliance, optimal tax efficiency and cash generation in line with the Group tax risk strategy while leading a team of 5-7 Tax Accountants. You will have a key role in driving the VAT process standardization project and implementing new digital tax solutions, which are the main strategic initiatives of the Indirect Tax Team.


What you will do:

•    Deliver the indirect tax Core Business Model for Vodafone entities across Europe ensure compliance with the relevant country’s governance framework 
•    Take responsibility for allocating tasks/duties to others within the team and ensuring cohesive team working
•    Supporting team members in tax professional issues
•    Conduct reviews of indirect tax deliverables
•    Manage a team of 5-7 people, create an empowering and inspiring culture within the team
•    Motivate others in the Tax team to achieve targets and high performance standards
•    Build relationships with a variety of indirect Tax Managers and Tax Teams across Vodafone’s footprint and liaise effectively with Group Tax
•    Act upon feedback from customers, including escalation management
•    Identify potential sensitive issues and escalate to the appropriate level to provide quality service/advice in accordance with agreed service standards
•    Contribute to the standardization and improvement of indirect tax processes through the use of tax technology and knowledge sharing in the team
•    Understand and promote the Vodafone values, act as a role model for the team
•    Expected to make a leading contribution in team meetings on specialist/ technical material


What will you bring to the team:

•    3+ years of experience gained in taxation/accounting / finance, strong knowledge of indirect tax
•    1-2 years of people management experience is an advantage
•    Fluency in English 
•    Qualification in accounting/finance/economics
•    Experience gained in a multinational environment; SSC experience is an advantage
•    Advanced MS Excel knowledge
•    SAP knowledge is an advantage
•    Accuracy, attention to details, analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Exceptional customer service mentality, flexible approach and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
